A Caterpillar Broke My Heart

This is a picture of a caterpillar on a small branch. It is green with yellow and black splotches on it, moving from left to right in the picture. The background is foggy green and a few of the branches have water droplets on them indicating a recent rain shower.

I wasn’t even five years old. I watched a children’s television show about this caterpillar that struggled with life and wasn’t satisfied with his status.

He eventually turned into a butterfly and flew away. Instead of being happy for him, I was heartbroken because I would never see him again.”

I was too young to understand that him turning into a butterfly was good. His status had changed! He could now fly! (I wish I could fly!)

Are you happy with your current status? The butterfly code exists in the DNA of the caterpillar.

What’s written into our DNA? Will we wake up one day and see that our status in life has changed? Not likely. We have to go about our status change differently. We have to earn it.

If you are not happy with your current status, what are you currently working on to change it?
